Checked only the part it added, then reported "done"
Any kind of task
- Situation
- Adding a section to a shared document just before sending it. The automated checks for formatting and length had all passed.
- What the AI did
- It reported "done" because the checks passed and the new section looked right. Opening the finished file showed text overflowing its box in another section nobody had touched.
- How to ask next time (the operator's example)
- Add this to the request: "Review the whole thing, not just what you added, as someone seeing it for the first time. Look for text that is cut off, overlapping, repeated, or oddly worded. Report what you looked at and what you did not."
- One question to ask
- What counts as "the whole thing" here, and has all of it been looked at?
- Check it yourself
- Ask to see the finished result, not a description of the change: a screenshot of each page or the exported PDF. If the AI can only describe what it changed, it has not looked at the whole.
