Wrote "it couldn't go further," but another way worked
Writing
- Situation
- Adding a sentence to a finished document that says what didn't turn out as intended, and why.
- What the AI did
- It stated flatly that "the constraints made it impossible to go further." Trying a different procedure fixed it in one step. The reason had been a guess.
- How to ask next time (the site author's example)
- "Before writing that something can't be done and why, try it a different way once. If it still doesn't work, list the methods you tried and the results, and give only the reasons you confirmed."
- One question to ask
- What other way could you try before writing "can't"?
- Check it yourself
- Ask "How did you confirm that?" If the AI ran a test, read the output yourself. If the answer is general knowledge, treat the reason as a guess and ask it to try one more way.
