Pulled only the requested angle from long material and threw away the rest

Situation: Having an AI spend a long time reading a large number of records or documents and pull out what relates to one particular angle.
What the AI did: It extracted only the requested angle and stopped, discarding other useful information in the same material (how the work was done, why decisions were made). Reading it all again took a long time.
How to ask next time (the operator's example): Add this to the request: "Besides what I asked for, if you see anything likely to be useful later, note it briefly in a separate section."
One question to ask: Outside the angle that was asked for, what is worth keeping?
Check it yourself: When the extract comes back, open the source material at two or three places outside the requested angle and see whether anything useful there is missing from what the AI returned.
